Ian Gary has been a divisive figure since he arrived in the UFC. The Irishman attracts attention with his self-confident style, but his way of managing his own image bothered some fans during his rise in the welterweight division (up to 77 kg). Now, through social media, the young man believes he is winning back his followers.

In an interview with 'Spaceport Sweden', Ian Gary highlighted that fans have come to know him in a more authentic way, thanks to his YouTube vlog, which has shown his personality and personal life. “I feel like fans are just seeing the real me. We started doing this YouTube vlog, and it’s doing really well. It shows more of me and my personality, and fans are seeing it and understanding that. We’re in a world where social media matters. I’m a fighter. I’m a competitor. But I’m also in the entertainment business. We want people to watch it, to connect with it. When I think about my Instagram and what I’m doing, I want people to understand me and connect with me as a human, as a fighter, as a father, as a husband, whatever. That’s why my family matters so much to me. I want people to see that I love my wife, I love my kids, I love my team, I love the way we travel, and I want people to see that and be inspired by it.” Ian Gary.
