Paddy Pimblett hints that his next opponent will be Michael Chandler

After finishing Bobby Green in one of the best performances of his career, Paddy Pimblett seems to have already found a future adversary: Michael chandler. In a video published on his YouTube channel last Monday (23), the Englishman declared that in 2025 he will look for opponents in the best positions in the lightweight division (up to 70,3 kg).

“I’m going for that belt, so I’m looking for higher ranked fighters right now. I’m sure you’ll see the fight announcement soon. I said yes, the opponent said yes, I just need to sign things. So you know the scorecard, guys. Like, comment, subscribe and I’ll see you at the top,” Pimblett said.

The last sentence refers to Michael chandler. Former Bellator lightweight champion (up to 70,3 kg) and currently ranked seventh in the category, the American often uses the catchphrase at the end of each interview inside the octagon and through digital platforms.

At 38, Michael chandler is not going through a good time in the biggest MMA organization in the world. Present in the UFC since 2021, he has two wins and four losses in the event. His last triumph was against Tony FergusonIn 2022.

Michael Chandler challenged Conor McGregor

Despite Paddy Pimblet's apparent interest, Chandler still doesn't seem to have forgotten the promise of a duel with Conor McGregor. Last Saturday (21), the fighter challenged the Irish once again through social media.

The two were coaches of the 31st season of The Ultimate Fighter in the first half of 2023 and the fight was scheduled for the UFC 303, but a broken toe kept McGregor out of the fight. Chandler has since faced Charles of the Bronx for the second time and there is no forecast for the Irishman's return.
