In a video published on his YouTube channel, the Englishman, who currently occupies 13th place in the category ranking, made a technical analysis regarding Makhachev's submission, in addition to comparing it with other performances that took place throughout the year.

“Obviously Islam’s submission is good, but it’s just a choke. I transitioned from the guillotine to the triangle and armbar from the stand-up fight. I still think Khamzat’s submission was better, Khamzat against Robert Whittaker was a better submission. Nobody did that to Robert Whittaker ,” said the Englishman.

Furthermore, Pimblett went so far as to say that due to Dustin Poirier 's history of submission losses , he would probably be able to beat the American in the same way.

"Poirier has been submitted multiple times before. I would submit Dustin Poirier . Nobody has submitted Bobby Green in a damn 12 years or whatever."
