According to the publication, Topuria's opponent will be Cody Haddon, in a fight valid for the bantamweight category (up to 61,2 kg). Haddon made his debut in the organization in October, defeating Dan Argueta by unanimous decision.

Despite having his debut scheduled for February, Aleksandre Topuria signed a contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in August of this year. Just one year older than Ilia, the fighter boasts a record of five wins and only one loss, with three of his victories achieved by stoppage.

The start of his UFC career could mean a life-changing experience for Topuria. Despite debuting professionally in 2015, he has only had six fights in almost ten years. Much of his effort has been dedicated to preparing his younger brother, who in 2024 became the champion and successfully defended his title after knocking out Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway in succession.
