With the great success of Ilia Topuria in 2024, another member of the family seeks to replicate the achievements of the current UFC featherweight champion (up to 65,7 kg). In this way, Alexander Topuria, El Matador's older brother, is preparing to make his debut in the world's largest MMA organization on February 9th, at pay per view from Sydney, Australia.

According to the publication, Topuria's opponent will be Cody Haddon, in a fight valid for the bantamweight category (up to 61,2 kg). Haddon made his debut in the organization in October, beating Dan Argueta by unanimous decision.

Despite having its premiere scheduled for February, Alexander Topuria signed a contract with the Ultimate in August of this year. Just one year older than Ilia, the fighter has a record of five wins and only one loss, with three of his triumphs achieved by the fast track.

The beginning of his career in the UFC could mean a life change for Topuria. Despite having debuted as a professional in 2015, he has only fought six times in almost ten years. Much of his efforts have been dedicated to preparing his younger brother, who in 2024 became the owner of the belt and successfully defended it after knocking him out.
