Patrick Pitbull has been very open about his desire to leave the PFL and pursue his career in another organization. The Bellator champion claims that he has not been offered fights in the second half of 2024, which has generated his discontent. The Brazilian recently posted a series of messages on social media, where he provided the latest update on his communications with the league.

In one of his many posts on 'X' (formerly Twitter), Patrício publicly criticized the PFL for not releasing his contract and called the situation absurd and disappointing. The Bellator featherweight champion (up to 65,7 kg) argued that, with the end of the organization, he should also be released to pursue his career elsewhere.

“It’s truly absurd and disappointing that I have to come to X to expose all of this. Do the right thing and release me, @PeteMurrayPFL @DonnDavisPFL. I was a @BellatorMMA fighter and it no longer exists. The promotion is over, and I should also move on,” wrote the Brazilian.

New MMA organization, GFL, criticizes PFL for treatment of Patricio Pitbull

In another post, Patrício once again expressed his frustration with the PFL after his team informed Pete Murray of his desire to leave the organization. Even though his contract ended in May, the PFL refused to release him, deciding to keep him against his will. The new MMA organization, GFL, shared the Brazilian's post and commented that, since its creation, it has been planned to avoid problems like Pitbull's, reinforcing that fighters should be treated as people and not as commodities.

“The GFL was created, in part, to prevent this type of issue. ‘Fighters’ are athletes and, more importantly, people. They should not be treated as mere commodities. We hope there will be a positive resolution to this issue involving @PatricioPitbull,” the new MMA organization wrote.
