Fabricio Werdum is a name that needs no introduction in the world of combat sports. At 47 years old, the Brazilian, who holds a UFC belt and has established himself as one of the greatest heavyweights (up to 120,2kg) in MMA history, has announced his return.
The announcement was made through an enthusiastic post on his social media, where the former UFC champion made it clear that he is not thinking about retirement anytime soon. He has not fought since September 2023, when he lost to Junior Cigano at Gamebred Bareknuckle.

“It’s so good to be alive! Who said I was retired? In April, I’m back! Heeeyy! Note: at 47 years old, I feel like a kid!”, wrote the fighter.
The big question now is which sport Werdum will decide to compete in. The fighter has been confirmed to be signed to the Global Fight League (GFL), a new mixed martial arts organization, which has opened the door for speculation about his return.
