A three-way rivalry is born in the UFC. Chronology of events

Gilbert Durinho revolted after Chael Sonnen suggest the Brazilian's retirement. The former UFC fighter speculated that he was no longer competing, even though he remained in the welterweight ranking (up to 77kg). The reaction was immediate.

Durinho not only criticized the former fighter's speech on his Twitter account 'X' (old Twitter) and Sonnen's phone number was also leaked, which generated a flood of calls to the American.

Sonnen made lemonade out of lemons. He went to his YouTube channel and answered a session of questions from fans for almost an hour, including merchandising.

Colby covington took the pains de Chael Sonnen and criticized the attitude Gilbert Durinho for leaking the phone number of his longtime friend. The former interim welterweight champion even offered to settle the score with the Brazilian in the octagon.

The Brazilian fighter didn't hold back. He mentioned April as a possibility and even gave Covington an ultimatum to schedule the fight. Now, the recent provocation takes on the air of 'trash talking'.

Durinho's desired opponent is not going through a good moment. The American's only fight of the year was against Joaquin buckley at the last event of 2024, in Tampa, Florida. The report from SUPER FIGHTS was the only Brazilian team covering the card. Colby covington was considered defeated after a doctor's stoppage in the third round.
