Alex Poatán was crowned 'Fighter of the Year' in the website's vote SUPER FIGHTS, after a season full of impressive victories. The Brazilian stood out in three events, where he achieved impressive results against Jamahal hill, Jiri Prochazka e Khalil rountree. And, in the opinion of former UFC fighter Alan Jouban, the current light heavyweight champion (up to 93kg) would already be in the 'Hall of Fame' if he stopped fighting today.

In an interview with SiriusXM's MMA Today, Jouban, who was called the 'Cristiano Ronaldo of the UFC' due to his similarity to the soccer star, praised Poatan's performance. He said that if the Brazilian decided to retire today, his career would already be worthy of historic recognition.

“People are going to leave with a smile on their face because they witnessed a knockout. It’s something you don’t see with many fighters, but with Alex, it’s guaranteed that someone is going to get knocked out, and that’s going to be the talk of the next day,” he said.

Currently, Alex Poatán has a record of 12 wins and two losses, with highlights including triumphs over big names such as Israel adesanya, Sean Strickland, Jamahal hill e Jiri Prochazka.
