Carlos Prates must face Leon edwards in the octagon. At least that's what a recent post by the Brazilian on Instagram suggests. All it took was for an American profile to publish a photo suggesting a fight between the two for 'Pesadelo' to share the image along with the 'coming soon' emoji.

The duel would be interesting for the Fighting Nerds athlete's ambitions to climb the welterweight rankings (up to 77kg). Edwards is the first linear in the category, while Carlos Prates figure in 13th position.
The Brazilian is on a roll. Since earning his spot in the UFC through the Contender Series, he has put together a three-fight winning streak, all by knockout. In his last appearance, he won Neil Magny not yet first round.
Possible opponents
Carlos Prates revealed, in a video posted on his YouTube channel, that refused two invitations to be in UFC 310 due to a foot injury. He would have received a contact to fight with Vincent Luque. The 'Silent Assassin' had his clash with Nick Diaz canceled and, without Prates, the opponent was Themba Gorimbo. The Zimbabwean was defeated by submission.
Then, 'Nightmare' received an offer to take on Shavkat Rakhomonov. The Kazakh would fight for the welterweight belt (up to 77kg.) against Belal Muhammad |, but the champion was pulled from the card due to an injury. In the end, the opponent was Ian Gary, defeated by decision.
Vincent Luque opened the doors to face his compatriot after the victory in Las Vegas. When asked by the team of SUPER FIGHTS In the post-event press conference, the welterweight did not oppose a confrontation with his compatriot, but made it clear that he hopes to see at least one more triumph from his possible opponent.
