UFC 311 , scheduled for January 18th, features a main event between lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg) Islam Makhachev and challenger Arman Tsarukyan . However, the Armenian's preparation has generated confidence in his coach, Marcos Parrumpinha, who believes his 'pupil' has all the necessary tools to surprise the Russian.
In an exclusive interview with the SUPER LUTAS podcast ' It's Time ' , Parrumpinha didn't hide his confidence in his pupil's potential. The Brazilian coach highlighted Tsarukyan's qualities, which he believes will be decisive in facing Makhachev.

“Islam is the champion and the number one in the world. It’s a tough and arduous task, but I think Arman has powerful weapons that will stand up to Islam. His wrestling is excellent, and his size is also an important factor. These are characteristics that, if well exploited, could be the key to a victory,” explained Parrumpinha.
The coach was full of praise for Tsarukyan. According to Parrumpinha, Arman has shown himself to be a disciplined and focused athlete, always willing to absorb new techniques and strategies.
“Arman is a very easy guy to work with. He is super focused and learns very quickly. If you show him a new position once or twice, he will put it in his repertoire. He is very disciplined and respectful, which makes his work as a coach much more effective,” said Parrumpinha, who also highlighted the fighter’s winning mentality.
The coach's confidence is visible, especially when he says this will be one of the toughest fights of his career.
“Suddenly, it’s the toughest title fight I’ve ever had in my life. God willing, everything will work out. We’re going to put everything we trained into practice,” he said.
