Deiveson Figueiredo believes Merab Dvalishvili's style will be key against Umar Nurmagomedov
The bantamweight title will be on the line in the co-main event of the UFC 311, and Deiveson Figueiredo believes that the champion Merab Dvalishvili has a good chance of winning Umar Nurmagomedov, despite his striking style not being as refined. The Brazilian highlights that Dvalishvili can tire and confuse his opponents to take them down, but recognizes that Umar is dangerous on the ground, with the potential to finish even when he is on bottom.
“I’m more in favor of Merab. The reason is that his striking is not refined, but he can tire people out and confuse them so he can take them down. On the other hand, Umar is a guy who knows how to submit from below, so there is that risk for Merab. But after five rounds, I see Merab’s hand being raised,” said Figueiredo.
At 36, Deiveson Figueiredo has a record of 24 wins and four losses, plus one draw. Throughout his career in the UFC, he has defeated big names such as Joseph Benavidez (twice), Brandon Moreno (in his first fight), Rob font, cody garbrandt e Marlon Vera.
