The end of the year is a time for reflection in any company. The UFC is no different. The organization released a video on the last weekend of 2024 featuring the rare names worthy of being called undefeated among hundreds of fighters on the roster. Only one Brazilian appears on the list of perfect records: Jean Matsumoto . (see video above)

Among the highlights is Spaniard Ilia Topuria , the recent featherweight champion (up to 65,7kg) after defeating Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 298. 'El Matador' has 16 wins. Topuria is the only fighter among those featured in the video who holds a championship belt.

Middleweight (up to 77kg) Khamzat Chimaev is among the undefeated. The Swede won his only fight of 2024 with a brutal submission over Robert Whittaker , adding the finishing touch of destroying the Australian's teeth.
The other athletes who have never tasted defeat are Tatiana Suarez – a contender for the strawweight title (up to 52,1kg) against Weili Zhang in February – Shavkat Rakhmonov , Umar Nurmagomedov , Movsar Evloev , Shara Magomedov , Bo Nickal , and the Brazilian Jean Matsumoto.

Brazilian Jean Matsumoto boasts a perfect record of 16 fights. Discovered by the UFC in the Contender Series in September 2023, the bantamweight (up to 61,2kg) has only had two other fights in the organization. He defeated Dan Argueta by submitting his opponent with a guillotine choke in May of this year. The other fight was against Brad Katona in October, when he emerged victorious by unanimous decision.
