The former Pride champion, Takanori Gomi is the UFC's new signing. According to a report from MMA Fighting, the Japanese star signed a contract with the organization chaired by Dana White at the beginning of this year.
After the end of Pride in 2007, Gomi fought for Sengoku where he did not have the same success, achieving only two victories in four fights, but the “Fireball Kid” rehabilitated himself by achieving two consecutive victories in the traditional Shooto Japan.
With the hiring of Takanori Gomi, Ultimate is trying to establish itself in Japanese territory, increasing the sale of PPV packages in Japanese territory.
