The presence of veterans over 35 years old in prominent positions in the UFC rankings is surprising and redefines the narrative about longevity in the UFC. Aged between 35 and 42, eight fighters occupy relevant positions in their categories, including names such as José Aldo (38) Stephen Thompson (42) and Jan Blachowicz (42)

The context gains even more weight with the upcoming fight of Josh Emmett (40), who defends his position in the featherweight division (up to 65,7 kg) against Lerone murphy, in the main fight of the ufc vegas 105 next Saturday (5).

The oldest ranked fighters in each UFC division

In flyweight, Bruno Bulldoguinho, at 35 years old, remains one of the most consistent names. The Brazilian, however, was surpassed by Manel kape in the last presentation, in December 2024, and appears in 12th place in the division led by Alexandre pantoja, who is the second oldest fighter.

Already at bantamweight, José Aldo, a 38-year-old icon and former featherweight champion (up to 65,7 kg), continues to challenge the new generation. He goes head to head with Aiemann Zahabi, at UFC 315, which will be played in Canada.

The featherweight has Josh Emmett, 40, is set to take action at the next event. His next fight against Lerone murphy, scheduled for Saturday, will be a crucial test to prove that age does not limit his performance.

In light weight, Michael chandler (38) remains a central figure in one of the organization's most competitive divisions. The fighter is coming off a loss to Charles of the Bronx and has a fight scheduled against Paddy Pimblett, at UFC 314.

The welterweight division is led by Stephen Thompson, who, at 42 years old, maintains a technical and evasive style that makes him a fan favorite. The 'Wonderboy' is on a two-fight losing streak.

In the middleweight category, Jared Cannonier (41) surprises with his knockout power, while in the light heavyweight division, Jan Błachowicz (42) came close to fighting for the title once again, but ended up defeated by Carlos Ulberg.
