Charles Oliveira 's next steps within the UFC remain uncertain. The lightweight division (up to 70,3kg) boasts big names in the 'top 10' and also has the arrival of former featherweight champion (up to 65,7kg), Ilia Topuria , which further complicates the category. But the confident statement from someone inside the organization raises concerns among fans. Bruce Buffer believes that the Brazilian will face Paddy Pimblett.

“Charles Oliveira is the guy he (Pimblett) is definitely going to fight. Oliveira is great on the ground and standing up. Paddy has already proven himself in both areas. They both have long limbs. It’s going to be a great fight if it happens,” the famous announcer said in an interview with 'TMZ Sports'.
But Charles do Bronx insists he's not open to a duel. In an interview with 'Sherdog', the former division champion responded to a recent challenge from the Englishman.
“Paddy is a tough kid. He showed how he’s evolving against Chandler. I understand his desire, but, as I said, my focus is on the belt. When I was getting into the top 10, I also wanted to fight a top 5 fighter. It’s part of the game. Pimblett would be a great fight, but not now,” said Charles do Bronx.
The two fighters being considered come from victories over the same opponent: Michael Chandler . Charles won the co-main event of UFC 309 , in November of last year. The duel was won by unanimous decision of the judges after five rounds. Pimblett had his last victory recently. At UFC 314 , last Saturday (12), the Englishman also had a co-main event with 'Iron' and won by knockout in the third round.
