The Dagestan Clan has suffered a blow in recent days. Khabib Nurmagomedov, former lightweight champion (up to 70,3 kg.) and member of the UFC Hall of Fame, announced the death of his uncle Mukhtar last Wednesday (23) in a post on the stories of Instagram. In the post, the former fighter shared an emotional message about his loved one. The date of death was not disclosed.

This is not the first tragedy to hit the team. In 2020, amid the pandemic, the group lost Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, Khabib's father and the main reference for the athletes, a victim of complications from Covid-19. Since then, the Eagle announced his retirement as a fighter and became the coach in charge of leading the training of Islam makhachev and other members of the Clan.
“Today, I want to say it was my last fight. … If I give my word, I have to follow this.”
