Towards his final appearance in the octagon, Dustin poirier shows he is eager to give a real show to the fans who follow and celebrate his great career. In preparation for a trilogy with Max Holloway and with the BMF belt at stake at UFC 318, on July 19, 'Diamond' plans a bloody duel against his long-time rival.
“Like a real idiot, I’m going to go to the center (of the octagon) and I’m going to trade blows with Max, we’re going to bleed and we’re going to put on a great show in my last fight,” Poirier said in an interview with MMA Junkie.

Known for his aggressive and intimidating style, Poirier will have one last fight to return to winning ways after a loss to Islam makhachev in June 2024. At 36 years old, the fighter has 30 wins and nine losses in his professional career. The athlete had already expressed his desire to officially retire from MMA.

On the other hand, Holloway is living a great moment in his life. Current BMF champion, the fighter won the belt by brutally knocking out Justin gaethje No. UFC 300. Just as Poirier wanted to do, the Hawaiian went to the center of the octagon, exchanged violent punches with his compatriot and at the last second achieved an apotheotic knockout.
