winner in UFC 314, Dan Ige gained more power in the organization after breaking the bank and dispatching Sean Woodson. Shortly after the victory, the veteran expressed interest in facing Patricio pitbull, which was immediately reciprocated and a verbal agreement was reached. Despite the situation, the American stated that Brazilians are not his priority and suggested other names.

“I’m not just stuck on it. There’s been interest from the company, from the matchmakers, but there’s no date. I don’t know if it’s actually going to happen. There’s been no further conversations about it. There are a few other featherweight fights: (David) Onama beat Giga (Chikadze). He’s in the conversation now, (along with Youssef) Zalal. There are a lot of guys who could fight,” Ige told MMA Junkie.

Continuing with his speech, Ige highlighted the importance of a possible duel against Pitbull, but reinforced that he will not be tied down to the confrontation.

“So I’m not stuck waiting for a guy. If I get an opportunity, a date and a place, I’ll be happy. I like the fight with ‘Pitbull.’ Obviously, it’s a risk. There’s no number next to his name, but he’s a legend in the sport, one of the best in the pound-for-pound division in my opinion, and it would be a great challenge to test myself against a veteran like him, and a big win on my resume. So, let’s see what happens,” he concluded.
