Deiveson Figueiredo speaks out after knee injury at UFC Des Moines

Brazilian blew out his knee during fight and lost by technical knockout to Cory Sandhagen

Between overcoming or regretting, Deiveson Figueiredo chose to move on. This Saturday (3), the Brazilian lost to Cory Sandhagen in the main fight of UFC Des Moines by technical knockout after injuring his knee. The fight was valid for the organization's bantamweight division (up to 61,2 kg).

The 'God of War' felt pain in his knee in the second round, when trying to defend himself on the ground. Cory Sandhagen stated in the post-press conferenceUFC Des Moines that Deiveson's injury was not an accident and explained the technique which resulted in his victory.

However, Deiveson Figueiredo it didn't take long to react after the defeat to Cory Sandhagen. This Sunday (4), the Brazilian made a post on 'Instagram' where he treated the defeat as 'another chapter in his story'.

“The result is not always what we want, but the fight continues. I sincerely thank God, my family, my team and all of you who cheer, support and believe in me. We will come back stronger. I am a warrior, and this is just another chapter in my story!” wrote Figueiredo. (see below)

Deiveson, who is a former flyweight champion (up to 56,7kg), suffers his second consecutive defeat in the bantamweight division. With the negative result, the 37-year-old athlete now has a record of 24 wins, five losses and one draw.
