Current middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg.), Dricus Du Plessis is even keeping an eye on fighters who are not among the top 15 in the division. When commenting on the loss of his undefeated record, BoNickal No. UFC Des Moines, the South African highlighted the feeling of satisfaction in watching the organization's star be knocked out by Reiner De Ridder.

“I have no problem with the hype of BoNickal. My problem is that he was talking about people who did things that he never did. He was a three-time wrestling champion, if I'm not mistaken. That's not wrestling, my friend. And he found out the hard way. I think he thought he was going to cross Reiner De Ridder. You have to be careful when you talk about that game (…). Humble pie does a man great things and he got served four big ones. It was satisfying to watch,” Dricus told 'Sias Du Plessis'.

Continuing with his speech, Dricus accused the American of having given up on the fight and warned about the high level of the category's elite.

“He can’t disrespect people with the things you wish you could do. He has this aura that he’s the champion, that nobody could break him in wrestling, that he can break anybody in wrestling. He was all about wrestling. That’s not wrestling, that’s fighting. And in my opinion, that knee was solid, BoNickal gave up, BoNickal "He was mentally broken and that's why he took the knee. If you can't handle knees like that, good luck at the top, because they hit with much more power," he concluded.
