He's back! Alexandre Pantoja defends his title against Kai Kara-France at UFC 317

Brazilian flyweight champion will be in the co-main event on June 28

Alexandre pantoja already has a return date to the octagon! The Ultimate flyweight champion (up to 56,7kg) will face Kai Kara France, number four in the category ranking, in the co-main event of the UFC 317, who will be the main attraction of the 'International Fight Week'. The event will be headlined by another Brazilian: Charles of the Bronx face Ilia Topuria for the lightweight belt (up to 70,3 kg), which will be vacant after Islam makhachev rise to face Jack Della Maddalena at welterweight (up to 77kg.).

The fight between Pantoja and Kai Kara France had already been speculated since the ufc vegas 103, right after the victory of Manel kape about Asu Almabayev, in March of this year. During the Brazilian's interview, the logo 'UFC 316' appeared on the screen and was quickly taken down, but not before fans noticed. But on Tuesday night (13), the organization's president, Dana White, confirmed that the fight will be in UFC 317. (see below)

The last time that Alexandre pantoja entered the octagon was in UFC 310, in December of last year. The Brazilian made his third successful belt defense against the newcomer Kai Asakura after finishing him in the second round. As he has already beaten the main names in the category, Kara-France had been considered as the name of the moment.

Kara-France's last fight was in August last year, when he defeated Steve Erceg by knockout in the first round. The 32-year-old New Zealander has a record of 25 wins and 11 losses and has been in the UFC since 2018.

Pantoja is on a seven-fight winning streak in the organization. The flyweight champion has a career record of 29 wins and five losses.
