Escalated to face Dricus Du Plessis in a duel worth the UFC middleweight belt (up to 83,9 kg), Khamzat Shimaev may have revealed the secret behind his unbeaten record. The Chechen, who will headline UFC 319, shared details about the Kislovodsk Olympic base, his favorite place to train.
In a video posted by Adam Zubayraev on YouTube, Chimaev presented the base located in southern Russia, pointing out the center as the ideal place to prepare. According to him, the high-level structure and the presence of athletes from different sports make it the perfect environment for high performance. The 'Chechen Wolf' also highlighted the isolation of the city, which favors total focus on sport.

“This is the Olympic base in Kislovodsk. Probably the best base I’ve ever been to. It’s the best place for training. All the Olympic athletes are here: wrestlers, skaters, boxers… all the athletes are here. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, you just immerse yourself in the sport. No cell phone, nothing distracts you. Your mind stays focused, all the extras disappear,” he said. Khamzat Shimaev.
The Olympic base mentioned by Khamzat Shimaev is located in Kislovodsk, a city in southern Russia, in the North Caucasus region, within the Stavropol Territory. Known for its mild climate and clean air, Kislovodsk is home to the Olympic training center on Maloe Sedlo Mountain.
Undefeated in his career, Khamzat Shimaev has 14 wins, six by knockout and six by submission. In his most recent performance, 'Lobo' impressed by dislocating the jaw of Robert whittaker with a rear naked choke.
