On his birthday, Duda Nagle received a gift that few would like to receive. The actor turned 42 this Saturday (17) sharing the ring against Acelino Popó Freitas in the 6th edition of Fight Music Show, in São Paulo. But those who win, also love. In addition to reacting to their victory on social media declaring passion through the noble art, Popó gave another gift to Duda Nagle, this time not so 'indigestible'. The Brazilian boxing legend recognized the tenacity demonstrated by his opponent in the ring, calling him a 'warrior'.
“#DudaNagle did well in the ring! He proved himself to be a true warrior of life! People have no idea what it’s like to be an actor: playing a character in a soap opera, film, or theater means challenging yourself in several ways to achieve the right preparation. Training. Losing weight. Living for real!” wrote the boxer. (see below)
The fight against Popó was Duda's first in professional boxing. Right after the duel, the four-time world boxing champion was in tears when talking about the actor's resilience and mentioned the cases of Bambam and Jr. Dublê as fighters who couldn't handle his punches.
“Congratulations, man. It’s your birthday today. I didn’t want a gift like that, but there’s something we choose in life, which is to receive gifts that we desire. You gave the gift to the people who are here today. Unlike Bambam, Dublê and many others, you did it differently. Not even a professional fighter would do that here,” said Popó.
Duda declared his excitement at sharing the ring with Popó and revealed that he held out until the end out of 'honor'.
“It was a tremendous honor to be in the ring with him. I know it was a lot because of the 'Music Show', otherwise I would never have made it to the end. I could only do my best. From the second round onwards, I could see that it was blurry. I knew it would be a matter of honor,” he said.
Four months before turning 50, Popó had his seventh fight in the Fight Music Show, without any defeat. The four-time world boxing champion put on a show in all of them, including names like Whindersson Nunes, Pelé Landi and Kleber Bambam.
