Jon Jones raises his voice and hits back at Tom Aspinall with a heavy attack on the interim champion: 'Shut up'

The soap opera involving the unification of the belts of Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall seems far from an outcome

With each passing day, fans' hope of seeing the unification of the UFC heavyweight (up to 120,2 kg) belts between Jon Jones e Tom aspinall, seems to be decreasing a bit. Linear champion of the category, 'Bones' doesn't seem too worried about it.

'Enjoying life' in Thailand, with no apparent rush to resolve the situation, Jon Jones seems to be the major impediment to the duel taking place, leading Tom aspinall stating that he no longer cares about facing him, only about being promoted to linear champion, as he has held the interim title since 2023.

“I’ve been inactive for almost a year and they’re telling me to wait. I don’t care about fighting with Jon Jones, I just want to be the linear champion,” Aspinall said in a recent statement to the 'Mighty' channel on YouTube.

The appeal of Tom aspinall did not move Jones, on the contrary. In a short and sharp response, the linear champion responded to the interim's speech.

“Shut up and do what you’re told,” Bones said in a comment on a social media post.

Jon Jones has been the heavyweight champion since March 2023, when he submitted Cyryl Gane No. UFC 285. Since then, the champion has defended the title on only one occasion, against Stipe Miocic, in November last year.

Meanwhile, Tom aspinall was crowned interim champion of the category with victory over Sergei Pavlovich in November 2023 and has already defended the title against Curtis blaydes, in July last year.
