Undefeated in MMA with 19 fights and on a frightening streak in the UFC, Movsar Evloev has not yet pleased enough to earn a chance at the featherweight title (up to 65,7 kg). Amidst suspense over who will be chosen to face the champion Alexander Volkanovsky Next, the Russian indirectly suggested that an unexpected rematch may occur.
"Alexander Volkanovsky, thank you, champ, for trying to fight me. I will fight in July and you in September, hopefully we both win so we can meet in December,” Evloev declared on his official X account.

With his positioning made, Evloev demonstrated that he knows that Volkanovski can defend his title in September, the month in which the event is scheduled to take place. Since then the Mexican has performed twice more, losing once and winning the last one, where he overcame Patricio pitbull. The history presented is generally not one that the agents expect to benefit the athlete to face the champion. This fact contributed to the outrage of the MMA community after Rodriguez was considered as Volkanovski's next opponent.
