For those who think there is no more challenge to Alexandre pantoja in the flyweight division (up to 56,7 kg), you could be completely wrong. Despite going through an impressive phase, with three belt defenses and victories over most of the main names in the category, there is still a name on the roster that can threaten his reign, at least that's what the undefeated believes Muhammad Mokayev.

In an interview with Chael Sonnen, Mokaev, who was turned off of the UFC even without having suffered defeats, stated that many fighters in the division have been there for a long time, which generates a familiarity between them. This, according to him, gives Pantoja a mental advantage, since the Brazilian knows his opponents well and only needs to stay in shape to beat them. For Mokaev, the only name capable of dethroning the champion currently is Manel kape.
“In the flyweight division, these guys have been in the division for a long time… If you start in the division and grow up with them, you understand them. You watch their fights and it’s like they’re your neighbors. So he already knows them, and basically he just has to stay in shape and perform, that’s it. Mentally, Pantoja is in their heads. The only guy I think can beat Pantoja right now in the division, I would say, is Manel kape,” said Mokaev.
Alexandre pantoja boasts a record of 29 wins, 13 of which were in the UFC. The Brazilian is currently preparing to return to the octagon and defend his belt once again, this time against Kai Kara France, an opponent he had already defeated on a previous occasion.
