After the victory of Jean Silva No. UFC 314, the relationship between fighters and Brazilian fans has become one of the most debated topics in the MMA community. This is because 'Lord' vented publicly about the troubled relationship with part of the national fans after finishing Bryce mitchell. In view of the discussion, Caio Borralho, Jean's training partner, came to his friend's defense and explained the reasons for the upset.
In an interview with the 'Laerte Viana na Área' channel on YouTube, Borralho spoke out about the commitment required by MMA and the constant criticism faced by athletes. The middleweight (up to 83,9 kg) stressed that most people have no idea what fighters face on a daily basis, but said he understands the public's distance from the reality of the sport. However, he was emphatic in criticizing the attacks made by haters on social media.

“The commitment to this sport is huge, man. The sacrifice and dedication are immense. It’s a sport where, even when you win, you end up all screwed. But people don’t know that, and it’s okay if they don’t know. But those who have a mouth say what they want… Not everyone, you can’t generalize. Maybe Jean got a little emotional and ended up generalizing, but it’s important for us to understand that this is going to happen all the time. There are people who are just waiting for me to lose and already have their text ready,” he said. Caio Borralho.
Borralho emphasizes how much a fighter's life is marked by challenges, both physical and emotional. The representative of Fighting Nerds highlights the price that athletes pay every day to step into the octagon and criticizes people who, without knowledge, make judgments and criticisms.
“In fact, no one has any idea of the wars we fight, both the daily ones and the internal ones. Dedication, sacrifice, being away from family… It’s a very high price for us to keep hearing criticism from people we represent. And, especially, from people who have never built anything in their lives, who have never experienced such great pressure, such danger to their lives, because it’s a dangerous sport, and they still want to give their opinion. They have no place to speak. It’s like a white guy wanting to talk about racism,” concluded the representative of Fighting Nerds.
The victory over Bryce mitchell It was the fifth of Jean Silva in the UFC, all won by the fast track. Already Caio Borralho, who has not fought since August 2024 and is still waiting for a new opponent to be defined, remains undefeated in the organization, with seven triumphs.
