Born in England as well as Tom aspinall, Paddy Pimblett left patriotism aside and surprised everyone by admitting that he is not capable of betting in favor of the interim heavyweight champion (up to 120,2 kg) in a possible duel against Jon Jones. Despite recognizing the Englishman's talent, 'Baddy' highlighted 'Bones' 'invincibility' as a crucial factor in the opinion.

“I can’t choose. I love Aspinall. He’s my friend and all. But I can’t choose against him.” Jon Jones, because we've never seen him get beat. I think now if anyone's going to beat him, it's Aspinall. Aspinall could just knock him out and come out with his hands and knock him out completely. I just never bet against him. Jon Jones. I watch the Jon Jones since he became champion when I was a kid,” Pimblett said at a press conference in Liverpool.

Continuing with his speech, the fighter explained how long he has been following Jones' career and defended his surprising opinion.

“Since I started watching the UFC, around 2009-2010, I have been following Jon Jones since then, before he won the belt. I remember watching the fight live when he was disqualified by elbows from 12 to 6. That's how long I've been watching Jon Jones, and it's just the way he plans the game. He finds a way to beat someone and he works exactly on that and how to beat them, but if anyone is going to beat him, it's Aspinall," he concluded.
