The lack of a definition regarding the UFC heavyweight division (up to 120,2kg) title unification fight continues to generate serious reactions in the MMA world. This Monday (26), the undefeated Muhammad Mokayev used 'X' (formerly Twitter) to attack Jon Jones and come to the defense of Tom aspinall.

The English fighter expressed his discontent with the situation in a short and direct manner. With Jon Jones without signaling the slightest intention of accepting the fight with the interim champion, the flyweight (up to 56,7 kg) defends that the belt be taken from the North American. Mokaev wrote: 'Give the belt to Aspinall'.

The relationship between the English is close. In addition to being compatriots, Tom aspinall Muhammad was once Mokaev's Jiu Jitsu coach. It's only natural that Muhammad would root for his friend. Amidst all this, the undefeated fighter is flirting with a return to the UFC after leaving the organization to try his hand at other companies.
Jon Jones has been the heavyweight champion since March 2023, when he submitted Cyryl Gane No. UFC 285. Since then, the champion has defended the title on only one occasion, against Stipe Miocic, in November last year.
Meanwhile, Tom aspinall was crowned interim champion of the category with victory over Sergei Pavlovich in November 2023 and has already defended the title against Curtis blaydes, in July last year.
