Charles do Bronx gave his opinion on Dustin Poirier's farewell fight against Max Holloway, scheduled for UFC 318 on July 19th, for the BMF belt. In an interview with 'Full Violence', the Brazilian highlights Poirier's precise boxing, the favorable setting of his farewell fight at home, and the 'Diamond's' quest to make a good impression in the last fight of his career. He has faced both fighters before.
“Holloway is a guy who moves around a lot, a guy who dodges well. But Dustin Poirier deserves all the respect. For me, of all the guys I've faced, he's the one with the sharpest boxing. He fights with more awareness, he has very heavy hands. He knows how to play the game. And he's practically fighting at home, so I think Poirier wins,” said Charles.

The rivalry between Poirier and Holloway began in 2012, when the American submitted the then-UFC newcomer with an arm triangle choke in the second round. Seven years later, at UFC 236, the two battled for five rounds, with 'The Diamond' securing a unanimous decision victory after exchanging over 350 significant strikes.
Now, in the third edition of the duel, the scenario takes on dramatic proportions. At 36 years old, Poirier announced that he will hang up his gloves regardless of the result, while Holloway defends the BMF title, won in April 2024 after knocking out Justin Gaethje with a punch in the last second of the fifth round.
