Even without the belt, Alex Poatán continues to be a proven idol. On Wednesday (28), the former light heavyweight (up to 93kg) and middleweight (up to 83,9kg) champion posted on his social media images of a trip to Germany. A crowd, predominantly young, awaited him at each appointment.

Next to the welterweight Abus Magomedov, in addition to his team, the Brazilian was heavily mobbed. In the images, it is possible to see that one of the fans was holding a Brazilian flag. Shouting 'Chama', the crowd went crazy looking for an autograph or a photo of their idol. (see videos below)
Alex Poatán has not yet had his rematch against Magomed Ankalayev confirmed by the light heavyweight belt. After the fight, the Russian declared that his opponent 'ran away' for 20 minutes and offered an immediate new fight. The proposal was endorsed by president Dana White.
Negotiations, however, face impasses: the organization suggested the main event of the UFC 317 (International Fight Week, in June), but the Brazilian claimed unavailability for the short term. The Russian, in turn, accused him of avoiding the fight.
The scenario remains undefined. The promotion sought an alternative for the UFC 317 after the Brazilian's refusal and considered Jiri Prochazka. The Czech, however, is finishing college and also did not seem fit to play on the date.
