The official poster of UFC 317, scheduled for June 28 at the T-Mobile Arena (USA), was announced with emphasis on two title fights. The event, which takes place during 'International Fight Week', has as its main fight the clash between Charles of the Bronx e Ilia Topuria for the organization's vacant lightweight title (up to 70,3 kg). In the co-main event, Alexandre pantoja defends his flyweight belt (up to 56,7 kg) against Kai Kara France.
Brazilian protagonists on the card, Charles and Pantoja appear with the Brazilian flag in evidence. Ilia Topuria and Kara-France represent the colors of Georgia and New Zealand, respectively.

The spot at the top of the standings came after the then champion Islam makhachev choose to challenge the welterweight belt holder (up to 77 kg), Jack Della Maddalena. With the change, the position was vacated, opening the way for Topuria, who abdicated the featherweight title (up to 65,7 kg) in April, and Charles to decide the new 'king'.
In the second most important fight of the event, Pantoja defends his title for the third time against Kara-France, who is trying to win the belt after two failures in interim fights. The opponents already faced each other in 2016, in The Ultimate Fighter 24, with the Brazilian winning.
