Michel Chandler stirred up the MMA world this week by making cryptic posts involving McGregor. The American simply made two publications on the social network 'Threads' with a date (24/01/2026) and the name 'Conor McGregor'. Cancelled a few times, the clash is still a reason for persistence on the part of 'Iron' and expectation from the fans.

In an interview with the North American website 'MMA Junkie', Chandler revealed the reason for the posts. And the trigger is quite intimate and emblematic. It would be the opportunity for the fighter and his wife to blow out the candles with a historically expected victory.
“I looked it up and thought, ‘Is it just a Saturday and maybe the UFC is doing a show on Saturday?’ January 24th is my wife’s birthday and mine, and it just so happens to be a Saturday, so I thought, ‘Let’s put this into practice’ and talk about it.” explained Michael chandler ao 'MMA Junkies'.
“It’s the turn of the new year, probably a new TV deal that these guys are working on, I’m sure they’re working on something.”, he concluded.
The history between the two rivals is marked by rivalry and cancellations. Originally scheduled to lead the UFC 303 In June 2024, the fight was canceled after McGregor suffered a fractured little toe during training. Alex Poatán replaced the 'Notorious' and won Jiri Prochazka in the main fight of the night.
Michael chandler has a history of important dates for the family being marked by MMA battles. While preparing to face Paddy Pimblett, at UFC 314, 'Iron' reported who could miss the birth of his daughter because of the duel.
