One of the biggest promises of the entire organization, Khamzat Shimaev could reach the top of the middleweight division (up to 83,9 kg) in the main fight of the UFC 319. However, the Chechen will need to go through Dricus Du Plessis. In this way, Lobo is counting on the support of Abdulrashid Sadulaev, two-time Olympic freestyle wrestling champion in 2016 and 2020.

The fighter posted a video training grappling with Sadulaev on Friday (30). The Russian, just 29 years old and born in Dagestan, is widely recognized as one of the best wrestlers in the history of Russia. In addition to his Olympic achievements, he is also a six-time world champion and four-time European champion. Due to his country's ban by the Olympic Committee, he was unable to participate in the Paris Games in 2024.

Chimaev is undefeated as a professional
At 31 years old, Lobo has never been defeated in 14 professional fights. Despite having started his career in the Ultimate as a welterweight (up to 77,1 kg) and having beaten names such as Gilbert Durinho, it was in the top category in which he established himself and will fight for the belt. He currently occupies the third position in the division's ranking. The last time he stepped into the octagon, he defeated Robert whittaker without difficulties even in the first round.
