Currently ranked 11th in the UFC featherweight rankings (up to 65,7 kg), Jean Silva announced that the organization has finalized the details of his next fight. In a vlog recorded at the Fighting Nerds gym, the Brazilian showed euphoria upon confirming the deal, but kept strict confidentiality regarding the opponent, date and location of the fight.

During the images, Jean Silva highlighted Ícaro Brito, a new prospect from Fighting Nerds, as a key player in the preparation. The observation, added to the comment from his teammate Carolina, who suggested that the fight could qualify the Brazilian for the title, ruled out the current champion Alexander Volkanovsky as an immediate opponent.

“No, not yet (I’m not going to reveal). Ícaro is the same size as the guy and, if he were to imitate someone, he imitates that person very well. I think I have a fight in a month. Godfather Dana will reveal it and then I’ll reveal everything. The work is already done. It’s a fight I’ve been asking for for a long time. I’m very happy. Let’s go for it, fight hand to hand.” Jean Silva in a 'vlog' on the Fighting Nerds YouTube channel.

The announcement crowns an aggressive campaign of Jean Silva for a high impact combat. After finishing Bryce mitchell No. UFC 314, in April of this year, he publicly called for a fight in UFC Kansas City, which would occur 15 days later. The wish was not granted at the time.

Undefeated in the UFC with five consecutive victories (all by knockout or submission), the Santa Catarina native has accumulated 16 career triumphs — 15 of them on the fast track — and two defeats.
