The delay in resolving the 'soap opera' involving Jon Jones, Tom aspinall and the heavyweight belts is so much that it has already made many fans and even some experts accept defeat and come to the conclusion that the duel will never happen. This, however, is not the case with Chael Sonnen, who believes that the numbers will speak louder.

In a video recently published on his official YouTube channel, the former fighter and current commentator revealed that the UFC would be willing to offer Jon Jones the biggest payout in the organization's history for the belt unification duel against Tom aspinall: US$ 12 million (approximately R$ 67 million at the current exchange rate).

“I don't believe that Jon Jones turned down this fight. Whatever the amount is, and I believe it's $12 million, if they're interested. I have my sources. The UFC has already agreed. Jon's check will be the biggest of his career and the biggest anyone has ever received from the UFC. Bigger than Brock Lesnar, bigger than Georges St-Pierre. It will crush the checks of Ronda Rousey”, Sonnen said.

Recently, Tom aspinall claimed that Jon Jones is retired from MMA and declared himself the linear heavyweight champion, opening the door for new challengers. 'Bones', however, claims he has an agreement with his rival and the UFC.
