Secret partnership between Anderson Silva and Jon Jones revealed in detail by UFC legend

Jon Jones can already consider himself a member of the UFC's unquestionable roster. But he has never faced another name on this list: Anderson Silva. At least not in an official fight. According to Chael Sonnen, the two have already shared the same fighting space, but in a training session in Las Vegas (USA). The revelation was made in a recent interview with the commentator on the website 'Bloody Elbow'.

“There was a day, and you may know this story, where the two of them faced off and it was just a training session. They were both in town. They were both in Las Vegas at the same time, and the UFC had a private gym down there. That’s where Dana (White) trained, or Lorenzo (Fertitta) did his exercises. So, they opened the private gym and put Anderson and Jon together in the ring.”, he revealed Chael Sonnen ao 'Bloody Elbow'.

Sonnen has fought both legends. In addition to challenging 'Spider' for the middleweight title (up to 83,9 lbs.) twice, he moved up to light heavyweight (up to 93 lbs.) and faced Jones at UFC 159. According to the 'Bad Guy', the Brazilian asked for secrecy regarding the training and praised his opponent a lot during training.

“If there is a video, it’s never been released, and the only people who were there were Dana and Lorenzo, Anderson and Jon. Nobody’s ever talked about it. But I asked Anderson privately. I said, ‘Man, do you have to tell me what happened that day?’ He told me a little bit and swore me to secrecy, but he said he’ll reveal what really happened one day,” Sonnen said.

“He told me that Jon Jones “He was a fighter on another level. He complimented him, and a lot of people who watched the video said that Anderson got the better of him, and maybe Jon allowed him to do that. Maybe Jon respected him because of his age. So, we don’t have details on that, but Anderson told me that when he felt Jon, he knew he was a fighter on another level, and I think that’s a great compliment coming from ‘Spider.’”
