Lack of confidence is definitely not a problem demonstrated by Ilia Topuria throughout his career in the UFC. It doesn't seem to be any different on the eve of the lightweight (up to 70,3 kg) title fight against Charles of the Bronx in the main fight of UFC 317, on the 28nd of June.

In a press conference to promote the Spanish event 'WOW FC', the former featherweight champion (up to 65,7 kg) was asked who would be his ideal opponent in a possible first defense of his lightweight belt. The Georgian-Spanish fighter did not commit, but showed confidence by guaranteeing that the result would be the same against anyone.

“I have no idea (who would be the first challenger). I will be there on June 28. First it would be Islam (Makhachev), now it will be Charles (from the Bronx). If Charles falls, it will be Arman (Tsarukyan). The result for everyone will be the same. I will win,” said Topuria.

During the press conference, Topuria indicated that part of the confidence he has shown has to do with the training camp. The Georgian-Spanish player said he has hired partners from all over the world to help him prepare for the fight with Charles of the Bronx.

“The camp is going really well. I brought sparring partners from different parts of the world. I will reap what I have sown with my work,” he concluded.
