After recently declaring that Jon Jones was definitely retired from MMA, Tom aspinall has once again reinforced his speech amid doubts created by fans. Convinced that the American will not put on the gloves again, the interim champion stated that he will face another opponent, although he could not reveal who will be chosen.
“I want to keep my job. I don’t want to say too much. People think I’m joking, but it’s the truth: Jones is retired. I’m not the kind of guy who does false advertising or anything like that. What I say is the truth and it will be announced soon, as far as I know,” Aspinall told The Independent.

Inactive for almost a year, Aspinall is showing anguish as he waits for his next move to be made official. Despite the revelation, the UFC has yet to comment on the situation and Dana White, up until his last statement, continued to confirm that a fight between Jones and the Englishman will take place in the future in the organization.

To reinforce Aspinall's theory, Jones had already said that the UFC knew about his plans, but that he did not understand why the leaders did not reveal their decision to the public. Apparently, the sports legend has no interest in unifying titles with Aspinall next.
