In search of reversing his irregular trajectory in the UFC, Rudolph Vieira announced this week his transfer to Fighting Nerds, voted 'Academy of the Year' in 2024. The change comes on the eve of his duel against tresean gore at UFC Vegas 108, scheduled for August 2.

The 35-year-old Brazilian leaves the North American team Fusion X-Cel Performance, where he has been training since 2021, in search of technical improvement and new stimuli. The São Paulo gym is run by coaches Pablo Sucupira and Flávio Álvaro.

The choice is not random. Rudolph Vieira has accumulated three losses in eight fights in the Ultimate, with recurring criticism about his physical resistance and evolution in striking. His last setback was to Andre Petroski in February, by unanimous decision.

Despite his legendary jiu-jitsu record, with seven jiu-jitsu world titles (IBJJF) and one ADCC (2015), Vieira has never replicated the same dominance in MMA. His UFC record is five wins and three losses.
