In the main fight UFC Atlanta, scheduled for next Saturday (14), Kamaru Usman will have the chance to get back to winning ways and show that he still belongs at the top of the UFC welterweight division (up to 77kg). The Nigerian, who has lost three consecutive matches, has even shown high level in his last performance, against Khamzat Shimaev. However, his current opponent, Joaquin buckley, promises to add another negative result to the former champion's record.

In a press conference at Media Day for the UFC Atlanta, Buckley fired at Usman and showed confidence in what he can deliver inside the octagon. The American pointed out that the former champion's performance against Chimaev will be "much inferior" to what he will have against himself. According to Buckley, his intention is to dominate Usman in an even more convincing way than the 'Chechen Wolf' managed.

The Nigerian reigned in the welterweight division between March 2019 and August 2022, until being dethroned by Leon edwards. Since then, it has accumulated three consecutive defeats. On the other side, Joaquin buckley, at 31 years old, is experiencing the best phase of his career and is undefeated in the category, with six victories, four of which were by knockout.
