Jon Jones was the target of yet another demonstration of discontent due to the delay in opening its doors to Tom aspinall for the fight to unify the heavyweight division belts (up to 120,2 kg). This time, the speech came from a colleague in the list of champions. Alexander Volkanovsky, holder of the featherweight title (up to 65,7 kg), raised his voice and sent a harsh message to 'Bones'.

“If you’re the champion, you defend your belt — it’s a responsibility. You can’t just sit on the sidelines. You need to be reasonably active. You need to fight whoever is there. If you have an interim champion, that's obvious," Volkanovski said in an interview with 'Overdogs Podcast'.
Speaking even more directly to the linear heavyweight champion, Volka suggested that he let the division go by opting for retirement if he really doesn't want to fight.
“I don’t want to be too negative, but look, I know he’s proven himself, everyone’s like, ‘Look what he did, it’s okay.’ No, not really. “Don’t hold the division back. I know your resume is incredible. You’re considered the greatest of all time,” Volkanovski added. “So if you don’t want to fight, retire, that’s it,” said the featherweight champion.
The UFC star signaled the possibility recently retired. Without a definition, Tom aspinall awaits the unification fight for the linear and interim titles. Jones' last fight was in November of last year, when he knocked out Stipe Miocic No. UFC 309.
