About a month after the first scheduled date, the fight that will take place in the capital of the state of Georgia (USA) was a source of great disappointment for Bellato when it was canceled in Las Vegas. According to the fighter, he was already ready to step into the Apex octagon when the postponement was imposed.

“We never expected something like this to happen to us, so it was something that surprised me a lot. I was wearing gloves, already warmed up. There was one fight left before ours, and then the commission doctor saw my lips — and it was something that showed up on the day of the fight. In the faceoffs, at the weigh-ins, there was nothing there,” he said. Rodolfo Bellato in an interview with journalist Guilherme Cruz from 'MMA Fighting'.

“I think the commission was absolutely right. We have to take very good care of our opponents, of the athletes, because it is really contagious. They really made the right decision. We didn’t understand it at the time. I cried a lot at the time. ‘Man, it’s not possible.’ But the right decision was made. They did the right thing to protect my opponent — and also me, sometimes a bacteria can get in there. It’s hard to understand, but now, with a clearer head, looking at the other side, I think the commission was absolutely right,” he said.
