The first Brazilian participation in the UFC Atlanta ended without a result, but with a lot of controversy. Closing the preliminary card of this Saturday's event (14), in a duel valid for the light heavyweights (up to 93 kg), Rodolfo Bellato was knocked out by an illegal pedal stroke Paul Craig in the last second of the first round. After reviewing the move, the refereeing team ruled the blow unintentional and ruled the fight a 'no contest'.

With the result (or lack thereof), Rodolfo Bellato now has one win, one draw and one no contest since his UFC debut in December 2023. On the other hand, Paul Craig continues with only one victory in the last seven fights

Rodolfo Bellato receives illegal blow in the last second of the first round and fight ends in a draw

Rodolfo Bellato started the fight controlling the center of the octagon, but was Paul Craig who struck first, with a kick to the waistline. Surrounding him, the Brazilian began to work kicks to the calf, while cocking his right hand. Bellato landed a hard right hand and Craig responded with a spinning kick. The Scot dove at the Brazilian's legs, who defended the takedown and continued kicking his opponent's calf. Craig attempted another takedown, which was again defended by Rodolfo. The Scot was working well with kicks to the waistline when he dove once again at the Brazilian's legs to take him down. This time, Rodolfo fell, but got up quickly. In another attempt by Craig, it was the Brazilian who fell on top, in half guard. In the last seconds, Rodolfo tried to attack with ground and pound, but ended up receiving a hard pedal kick from the Scot and ended up momentarily losing consciousness. After being interrupted, the action was reviewed and it was determined that the Scot's blow had been illegal, but unintentional, resulting in a 'no contest' (fight without a result).

One of the biggest favorites UFC Atlanta in betting houses, Malcolm Wellmaker showed that such favoritism was not for nothing. Fighting 'at home', the American erased the Portuguese Kris moutinho with an impressive knockout in the first round of the duel, valid for the bantamweight division (up to 61,2 kg). 'The Machine', as Wellmaker is known, connected a precise and brutal right cross, which left his rival face down on the canvas.

As a result, Malcolm Wellmaker remains undefeated in his career. The American now has ten wins in ten professional fights, the last two of which were in the UFC.

On the other side, Kris moutinho returns to the UFC with a defeat. The result ended a five-win streak for the Portuguese.
