Dana praises Poirier's career and admits that the UFC 318 location was designed to honor the athlete

Having witnessed great talents that have passed through the UFC octagon, Dana White does not hesitate when talking about his favorite fighters. A little over a month before UFC 318, which takes place on July 19, the president did not mince words when praising one of the protagonists of the event, Dustin poirier. According to the president, his compatriot is one of the greatest of all time in the sport.

“He’s actually ranked number five in the world right now in the lightweight division. He’s a guy who’s maintained his position in the top 10 in the sport for a long time. He’s accomplished a lot. He’s one of the greatest of all time. Thousands of people have fought in the UFC, I don’t know where I would rank him, but he’s one of the greatest of all time,” Dana said in an interview with WDSU News.

Following his speech, Dana admitted that the event's destination was scheduled only to honor the fighter, who will have the last fight of his career.

“All over the world, Dustin poirier “He’s a big star for us. He’s accomplished a lot in the sport. This is for him (UFC 318), to be honest with you. This is for him. He wanted to have his last fight and end his career in New Orleans, so here we are,” he concluded.

UFC 318 protagonist Poirier makes a trilogy with Max Holloway in a fight that will have the BMF belt at stake. The confrontation is scheduled for July 19, in New Orleans (USA).
