The Octagon arrives in the Caucasus. For the first time in history, the UFC is holding an event in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, this Saturday (21). The card is headlined by the fight between Jamahal hill e Khalil rountree for the light heavyweight division (up to 93kg). 12 fights are scheduled, with only Nikolas Motta representing Brazil.

Victims of Alex Poatán, Hill and Rountree will have their first fight since facing the Brazilian. The fighters, who are two of the biggest names in the category, will face off in pursuit of one goal: to fight for the title once again.

Fourth in the rankings, the former champion has not won since he was dethroned Glover Teixeira, in January 2023. Since then, the American has dealt with injuries, including a serious Achilles tendon problem, and two defeats, against Poatan and Jiri Prochazka.

Khalil, who is seventh, was on a five-fight winning streak until he was knocked out by the Brazilian in a fight for the under-93kg belt. The fighter, however, left a good impression by winning two of the three rounds in the fight before suffering from his rival's firepower in the fourth round.

In the co-main fight, Raphael Fiziev aims to end the sequence of three consecutive defeats and wants to make a good impression again in search of getting closer to the top 5 in the lightweight division (up to 70,3 kg). To do so, however, the 'home fighter' needs to inhibit the rise of Ignacio Bahamontes.

The only Brazilian representative on the card is Nikolas Motta. The miner, who has gone three fights without losing (two wins and one fight 'without result'), faces Nazim Sadykhov in the main program.

Starting at 13pm (Brasília time), the UFC Baku will be broadcast in full on UFC Fight Pass, Ultimate's official streaming platform. The main card is scheduled to start at 16pm. The UFC has NOT been broadcasting 'Combate' since the end of 2022.
