Jamahal Hill vs. Khalil Rountree to face off in 'Poatan victims' fight

Jamahal hill, who won the title in January 2023 by overcoming Glover Teixeira, has not recorded any victory since then. A serious Achilles tendon injury and consecutive defeats to Alex Poatán and Jiří Prochazka keep the American away from the top of the division. The fight in Baku represents a crucial chance for the athlete to get back to winning ways and claim another title shot.
Rountree Jr., meanwhile, saw an impressive five-fight winning streak snapped by Poatan in October 2024. The American showed competitiveness in the title fight, winning two of the first three rounds before succumbing to the Brazilian's knockout power in the fourth round. A victory over Hill, a high-profile name, would boost his position in the rankings and reinforce his credentials as a challenger.

The co-main event brings the popular Raphael Fiziev, who has the status of 'home fighter' before the Azeri public. Ranked 11th in the lightweight rankings (up to 70,3 kg), 'Ataman' faces pressure to end a negative streak of three consecutive defeats.
Your opponent, the prospect Ignatius Bahamondes, arrives with the goal of using Fiziev's local favoritism as a springboard to climb the rankings and threaten the names in the top 10 of the category. The Chilean arrives on a series of three positive results.
