The revenge of Alex Poatán on Magomed Ankalayev is about to come to fruition, according to the Brazilian. The light heavyweight belt (up to 93kg) went to the Russian after defeating Poatan in the main fight of the UFC 313, in March, at the T-Mobile Arena, in Las Vegas (USA). In a recent interview, in addition to indicating the date for the fight, the former champion reduced the 'hype' of the current owner of the belt.

“We are in negotiations with the UFC. We are preparing. We'll see. Maybe around October.”, he said. Alex Poatán em interview ao 'The Schmo'.

The UFC is likely to hold two pay per view, when the championship fights take place, in October. The UFC 320, scheduled to take place in Las Vegas on the 4th, and a numbered card in Abu Dhabi, less hostile territory for the current champion. Regardless of when, Poatan – who has only lost twice in the Ultimate, for Israel adesanya and for the Russian – he guarantees that he will not be in the octagon against the most difficult opponent of his career.

“I have definitely faced tougher opponents. The situation itself that day (UFC 313), circumstances made him a difficult opponent. But I've definitely fought people a lot tougher than him,” Poatan said during the interview.
