UFC 317 weigh-in: Charles do Bronx and Alexandre Pantoja make weight and confirm title fights

The two title fights UFC 317 are confirmed. Early in the afternoon of this Friday (27), the athletes scheduled for this Saturday's event (28) went through the challenge against the scale. Protagonists of the card, Charles of the Bronx, Ilia Topuria, Alexandre pantoja e Kai Kara France had no problems making weight and confirming fights for the lightweight (up to 70,3 kg) and flyweight (up to 56,7 kg) titles.

The first athlete to step onto the scale was Ilia Topuria. Former featherweight champion (up to 65,7 kg) and in search of the lightweight title, the Georgian-Spanish fighter even scared people at first, when the person in charge of the athletic commission announced the weight of 70,5 kg, half a pound above the category limit. Seconds later, however, in a second conference, the former champion confirmed the 70,3 kg of the division.

Former lightweight champion, Charles of the Bronx was the third to weigh in. Without any surprises, the Brazilian was below the maximum limit for lightweight, at 70,1 kg.

Protagonists of the co-main fight, Alexandre pantoja e Kai Kara France were, respectively, the fourth and second fighters to step on the scale. Both were at the limit of the flyweight division, at 56,7 kg, confirming the title fight.

Besides Charles of the Bronx e Alexandre pantoja, all the other five Brazilians selected for the UFC 317 also confirmed their presence through the official weigh-in.

Renato Moicano e Felipe Lima, scheduled for the main card, and Gregory Robocop, Viviane Araujo e Jonathan Diniz, in the preliminary round, they had no problems staying within the limits of their categories, as did their respective opponents.

Fighter fired before debut and UFC 317 loses a fight

The only occurrence of the official weigh-in of the UFC 317 was responsible for the fight between Jackson McVey and Christopher Ewert, which ended up being removed from the card. Chosen to replace Sedriques Dumas At the last minute, Ewert arrived at the weigh-in around 4,5 kg over the middleweight limit (up to 83,9 kg) and was released by the organization without even stepping on the scale.
