O UFC 317 made history! Alexandre pantoja made the fourth consecutive defense of the flyweight division belt (up to 56,7 kg) by submitting Kai Kara France in the third round. Charles of the Bronx was brutally knocked out in the first round and Ilia Topuria occupied the vacant throne of the lightweight division (up to 70,3 kg), left by Islam makhachev. The victory earned the Spaniard, in addition to the belt, a Performance of the Night bonus.

A Brazilian also won the same bonus. Gregory Robocop pocketed US$50 (almost R$274, at the current exchange rate) after knocking out Jack hermansson with a lethal cross in the first round.
The Fight of the Night bonus was for the duel between Brandon royval e Joshua Van. Each pockets $50. Just three weeks after winning Bruno Bulldoguinho, the Burmese returned to the octagon and defeated the number 1 ranked flyweight (up to 56,7kg). After three rounds, Van took the victory over Brandon royval by unanimous decision of the judges. After the duel, on the UFC microphone, Joshua said he wanted to face the winner of the next fight, dominated by Alexandre pantoja.
